Ioannis is Assistant Professor of Marketing at University of West Attica and Adjunct member of staff at the Hellenic Open University. Before joining UniWA he was working at the University of Brighton as a Senior Lecturer for 7 years and before that he served as a Lecturer at the University of Plymouth. Prior to this he worked for 3 years as the Programme Director of BA Advertising, Marketing Communications & PR at London Metropolitan University (Business College of Athens campus). He holds a PhD in Marketing from Athens University of Economics and Business (AUEB). He also holds a Bsc in Business Administration (2000) and a Master’s in Business Administration (MBA) from AUEB and Erasmus University of Rotterdam (2002).
He researches in the fields of digital marketing, marketing communications, services marketing, consumer behaviour and innovation adoption. Ioannis is the author of a monograph on Marketing Communications and a book on Digital Marketing. He has extended consulting experience as he has conducted numerous business projects in Greece and the UK. He is a visiting lecturer in Woxsen School of Business, India. Ioannis has presented and published his work in top ranked academic journals (e.g. Information, Technology & People, International Journal of Innovation Management, Journal of Strategic Marketing, International Journal of Market Research) and prestigious international conferences (e.g. EMAC, AMA).
He is an active reviewer for (indicative) European Marketing Academy Conference, American Marketing Association, Journal of Relationship Marketing, International Journal of Productivity and Performance Management, Information Technology and People. Ioannis has served as External Examiner for the University of East London, Leeds Business School and the University of West London. He was also Nominated as Greek National Coordinator for the European Marketing Academy in 2012. He is a Fellow of the Higher Education Academy and a member of the Higher Education Academy, Greek Marketing Academy, the European Marketing Academy, the Economic Chamber of Greece and the International Association of Research in Economic Psychology.
